Job Summary 

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of tasks to assist the Human Resources department, which includes handling and distributing sensitive and confidential data or materials. Supports all clerical and procedural Human Resources related activities. Answers basic inquiries, via phone or in person, or connects the customer with the appropriate point of contact.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Interprets applicable Human Resources policies, procedures and applicable laws and applies basic knowledge and principles for HR programs.  

Responds to basic inquiries for management and/or public, and conducts research, analysis and evaluation.

Prepares records and other applicable documents and assists with preparing reports and analytical studies.  

Processes personnel actions and other types of personnel request.

Core Competencies  

Knowledge and ability to apply basic principles, policies and concepts and terminology to perform routine assignments in the field of Human Resources.

Knowledge of standardized processing and coding procedures to handle forms and other related documentation.

Knowledge of Human Resources recordkeeping procedures, organizational structure to maintain references and files.   

Knowledge and ability to communicate effectively about Human Resources principles and practices.  

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements  

None.

Basic Qualifications   

Degree Required: None.

Work Experience: Specialized work experience directly related to the position.

Job Summary 

With limited guidance, performs a variety of tasks to assist Human Resources staff and support Human Resources services, which may include handling and distributing sensitive or confidential data, or materials. Answers inquiries via phone, email or in person, and connects the customer with the appropriate point of contact.  Provides technical support for activities such as promotions, transfers, recruitment, resignations, benefits and classification actions. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Provides moderately complex technical and administrative support related to promotions, transfers, recruitment, vacancy announcements, resignation and other functions.

Advises and/or assists management and employees on appropriate procedures for processing employee actions.  

Handles and distributes sensitive data or materials. Coordinates and collects data or materials for studies and reports. Conducts basic research, analysis and evaluation and assists with preparing reports and analytical studies.  

Prepares records and other applicable documents. Processes personnel actions and other types of personnel request.

Core Competencies  

Knowledge and ability to apply Human Resources principles, policies, procedures, concepts and terminology to perform routine assignments in the field of Human Resources.

Knowledge of standardized processing and coding procedures to handle forms and other related documentation.  Knowledge and procedures in payroll processing and actions.  

Knowledge of job analysis techniques, principles and concepts, and comprehensive analytical skills.  

Knowledge and ability to communicate effectively to provide advice and recommendations about Human Resources established principles and practices.

Knowledge of Human Resources recordkeeping procedures, organizational structure to maintain references and files.
