Training Specialist

Training Specialist - CS-1712-09

Job Summary 

Under direct supervision, assists in facilitating and/or conducting training sessions. Work and tasks are most often straightforward, routine, structured and guided by established policies and procedures. Assists in developing training materials; maintaining training records; and providing various reports to management, when required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Assists in the design of workshops to meet the requirements of special audiences.   

Assists in the development of basic training content to fulfill determined learning needs.    

Assists in developing needs assessment tools, surveys, and focus groups sessions.

Monitors procedures related to mandatory training requirements; and ensures compliance.

Generates reports and training records; and maintains training files and records.

Tracks participation in training programs.

Core Competencies  

Familiar with applying methods to plan and evaluation training.  

Familiar with learning assessments tools.  Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.  

Ability to research and analyze data/information.

Job Summary 

Under general supervision, conducts training needs analysis to determine learning needs. Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Plans, designs and develops training curriculum, materials and tools. Facilitates and/or conducts a training curriculum.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Conducts training needs assessments; and conducts research on recent training trends, evaluation methodologies, and procedures.  

Plans and/or develops course content, instructor's manuals, course objectives and related training materials.

Develops training calendars and disseminates training information; and tracks participation in training programs.  

Reviews past training information to determine future training needs. Conducts studies and surveys to identify performance problems.

Analyzes specific problems, determines causes, and develops proposals for appropriate solutions. Researches, develops, evaluates, and/or revises the training curriculum.

Core Competencies  

Knowledge of the principles and techniques of curriculum design and development.  

Ability to apply research methods to plan and evaluate training.  

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Job Summary 

Under limited supervision, conducts training needs analysis to determine learning needs. Work involves the application of complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Plans, designs and develops training curriculum, materials and tools. Facilitates and/or conducts a training curriculum.  Provides training development expertise and advisory guidance to management.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Develops and/or delivers complex course material. Plans, develops, reviews and revises training contents and material for coursework.  

Develops components of web-based training curricula, training assessments, surveys and statistical reports.  

Develops and implements strategies to deliver the training, Identifies measurable performance improvements and training needs.  

Conducts studies and surveys, identifying performance problems and causes. Analyzes and resolves specific training issues/problems.  

Recommends adjustments and modifications based on measurement of the effectiveness of training and operational needs.

Assists senior levels with program budgets, correspondence and marketing materials.

Core Competencies  

Thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques of curriculum design and development.   

Thorough knowledge of web-based curricula; and familiarity with web-based programs.

Skill in fact-finding and analysis to formulate and present recommendations.

Job Summary 

Under limited guidance, participates with management in formulating organizational training plans and strategies. The work is at the senior level, and the assignments are substantially complex, varied and regularly require the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Develops and approves complex course curriculum, materials and learning tools. Researches and identifies vendors and builds vendor relationships. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Reviews training curriculums, projects and programs for alignment with department’s goals and budgetary compliance.

Develops and/or delivers complex course material. Develops and implements training programs involving the design and delivery of training and development.

Works with stakeholders to develop, review, and design curriculum and programs. Researches and identifies vendors.  

Identifies measurable performance improvements, training needs and process improvements.  

Plans utilization of resources for training and maximizes use of external funding sources for the District. Evaluates quality of deliverables from internal and external sources.  

Participates with management in formulating training plans and strategies. Develops long-terms training plans. 

Core Competencies  

Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of curriculum design and development.

Skill in marketing and the development of marketing training materials.

Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication.
