Job Summary 

Assignments are in term of broadly defined missions or functions of the organization.  Review of work is in terms of feasibility, or effectiveness in meeting requirements or achieving expected results.  Work involves planning, directing, or coordinating activities in such fields as, systems analysis, electronic data processing, information systems, computer programming, etc.

Supervises a team of employees responsible for providing computer and information technology (IT) functional support to the organization.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Oversees general issues; troubleshoot problems as they arise; and offers technical support to the organization and teams.

Identifies the technology goals for the organization. Ensures that the organization’s computer and network systems are effective, reliable and safe.

Researches and implements ways of technology and network-based systems can increase organization and productivity.

Identifies software needs and work to fill those gaps, in addition to implementing patches and upgrades, as necessary.

Supervises and assigns work to subordinate staff based on priorities.

Core Competencies  

Extensive knowledge of network and personal computer (PC) operating systems.  Ability to manage technologies and protect their data.

Extensive knowledge of management principles, procedures and techniques in analysis, evaluation and problem-solving.

Strong communication skills, and interpersonal skills.  

Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

Job Summary 

Assignments are initiated through discussions, conferences, or directives that broadly define mission of the organization.   Work is considered technically authoritative and are normally accepted without significant change. Responsibilities involve managing and ensuring the accountability for the design, engineering, installation, maintenance, monitoring, and performance of IT systems and electronic devices; and making decisions about installation, maintenance and upgrading on the electronic devices used in the workplace.

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

Manages and implements computer and IT systems, ensuring that the organization’s computer and network systems are effective, reliable and safe.

Manages the work of IT personnel, assuming responsibility for the supervision of numerous direct and indirect employees and contracted personnel.

Manages and monitors the budget expenditures, recommending reallocation of funds to meet IT needs.

Responsible for researching and developing ways that technology and network-based systems can increase organization and productivity.

Performs and direct project management of large technological construction and installation projects.

Core Competencies  

Mastery of advanced, and authoritative knowledge of network and personal computer (PC) operating systems.  Ability to manage technologies and protect their data.

Mastery knowledge of management principles, procedures and techniques in analysis, evaluation and problem-solving.

Strong managerial skills, and excellent team building, organization and leadership skills.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
