Job Summary
Under direct supervision, prevents accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations, etc., governing the conduct of persons at the swimming pool.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Complies with standard operating procedures associated with the testing and recording of water chemistry.
Serves in the capacity of a Life Guard, enters the water to rescue persons in distress; resuscitates rescued bathers; administers first aid to the injured.
Assists in cleaning locker rooms and showers when necessary.
Conducts structured swim lessons, and teaches CPR, Lifeguarding and Standard First Aid training classes to the public.
Core Competencies
Knowledge of the Municipal regulations and applicable rules, policies and guidelines for governing the conduct of persons at the swimming pool facility.
Demonstrated skill and ability to pass required swimming test.
Knowledge of and skill in the basic principles and techniques of Lifeguard Training, Water Safety and CPR training.
Demonstrated knowledge of methods involved in various types of aquatics recreation activities that will enable the employee to carry out the variety of recreation assignments.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements
CPR certification obtained through a certified Red Cross course and an instructor.

Job Summary
Under direct supervision, programmatically operates and provides significant input towards the administration and implementation of activities and services of a major aquatic center equipped to serve a community with a large volume capacity of persons.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as operator of an Aquatic Center in compliance employing agency designated standard operating procedures to carry out the full range of operator responsibilities.
Complies with standard operating procedures associated with the testing and recording of water chemistry.
Employs operating regulations and guidelines to prevent potential emergencies in-the water and diving areas. Minimizes risks utilizing the prevention and warning of dangerous practices such as shallow water diving, and underwater breath holding and any other life-threatening behavior.
Enters the water to rescue persons in distress; resuscitates rescued swimmers and administers first aid to the injured.
Core Competencies

Demonstrated knowledge and skill to competently and independently carry-out aquatic recreation projects and/or programs through proper application of the principles, concepts, and techniques of aquatic recreation to accommodate the specific needs of the community.
Knowledge of the methods and processes involved in an aquatic recreation program, which enables the incumbent to plan and conduct a diversified and enhanced aquatics programs.
Demonstrated skill and training in water safety instruction, Aquatic Facility Operations, and lifeguard certification program to provide the training in the areas of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and water rescue skills.
Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing all available resources within the program framework.
Ability to pass the required swimming qualifications and test.

Job Summary

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures that the assigned outdoor aquatic recreational activities meet or exceed the needs of the community that each center is servicing.
Assists supervisor and operators of the aquatics center program with the recruit and training of individuals seeking employment at seasonal and year-round aquatic facilities.
Works in collaboration with the Aquatic Program Manager, selects and emphasizes program activities to be offered in basic, special event, and joint community activity categories.
On a continuous basis, evaluates the effectiveness of ongoing activities of the center by issuing and collecting participant surveys.
